I am so thankful for the presence of so many family members, friends of all of our family, church families, etc. that came from all over the US to Mother's Memorial Service. What a blessing to
all be together to honor and celebrate Mother's life. We even heard from past students from Mother's teaching days. This is a hard time for Dad, Miles and myself and we are so grateful for the presence of so many and for all the cards, flowers and memorials. God provides so much comfort and love through one another and that is the greatest gift in this world. So many have provided us this gift through their love. Mother is now at peace with our loving Lord.

I was thinking today of all the things that Grandma taught me to do:
fish
chinese checkers
horseback riding (and bareback)
math (she would always cringe when I used a calculator, followed by a scathing remark :)
monopoly (she is the only person I have ever played this game to completion with)
My favorite memory is of us playing cards or board games for hours during the summer. And the ice cream! Oh, the ice cream.
There was never a warming feeling than drinking milk and cookies with Grandma in the early afternoon while visiting. There was always so much to do! The TV never came on until evening, and when it did, it was always Matlock. Needless to say, Tye and I didn't watch a lot of TV at that house.
Could you even imagine a better Grandmother? I can't.
